QuizBug is an educational, gamified web app, available free of cost. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information while using the app.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 User-Provided Information

To create an account in QuizBug, users provide the following:

• Name
• Age
• Standard/Class
• Preferred language
• Email and password

1.2 Activity and Progress Data

We track and store the following data to enhance your learning experience:

• Test completion data (subject-wise tests, mock tests)
• Scores and achievements
• XP, levels, badges, daily streaks
• Daily app activity logs

1.3 Firebase Authentication Data

We use Firebase Authentication to securely manage user accounts. Firebase may collect:

• Unique Firebase User ID (UID)
• Last active date
• Anonymous activity and referral data

1.4 App Content Data

All MCQs and tests are sourced from our research and government-authorized textbooks, delivered via Google Sheets and Google Apps Script Web API.

1.5 Advertising Data

We use Google AdMob for advertisements. Only non-personalized ads are shown, which may include:

• IP address
• Device and network information
• Ad interactions (clicks, impressions)
• Approximate location (not precise GPS)

Children’s Privacy: Our app is suitable for users of all ages. For children under 13/16, only non-personalized ads are shown.

2. Use of Information

We use the information collected to:

• Authenticate and securely identify users.
• Store user profiles and progress.
• Track achievements, levels, daily streaks, and gamified elements.
• Ensure app functionality, including offline features.
• Display non-personalized ads without interrupting user experience.

We do not sell, share, or use your personal data for marketing purposes.

3. Textbooks in QuizBug

Source & Ownership: We provide access to textbooks from education boards (e.g., NCERT, CBSE, GSEB) strictly for educational purposes. We do not own or modify any content. All intellectual property rights remain with the respective publishers.

Access:

• Textbooks are linked from publicly available sources or official education board portals.
• Content is used for educational purposes only and is not sold or commercially exploited.

Removal Requests: If a publisher or copyright owner requests removal of their content, we will promptly comply.

Disclaimer: Textbooks are provided as-is. We do not guarantee accuracy, updates, or completeness. Official versions remain with the respective education boards.

4. Advertising (AdMob)

Ad Types: Banner, Interstitial, and Rewarded Ads.

Non-Personalized Ads Only:

• No targeting based on personal browsing history or interests.
• Ads appear during natural breaks (start of test, before results).
• Rewarded ads are shown only at user’s choice.

Information Collected by AdMob:

• IP address
• Device and network info
• Ad interactions
• Approximate location (city-level, not GPS)

Children: Non-personalized ads only, in compliance with COPPA and GDPR-Kids.

5. Data Storage and Security

• All personal and activity data is stored securely in Firebase Firestore.
• Users can access and modify their data.
• LocalStorage is used for temporary storage to improve app speed.
• Firebase security rules ensure users can only access their own data.

6. User Rights

• Access profile and activity data.
• Update or correct information.
• Request deletion of data.

7. Third-Party Services
